UFC FN 53: Alexander Yakovlev to Fight Nico Musoke After Amir Sadollah’s Withdrawal

Nico Musoke has received a new opponent for UFC Fight Night 53 on October 4th, as the promotion has announced that welterweight Alexander Yakovlev has been booked for the bout.

Musoke was originally scheduled to fight Amir Sadollah, but the UFC has conformed the latter has been moved to another card. Recently “UFC Tonight” reported that Sadollah was being considered as a replacement for the injured Kyle Noke, who was set to fight Yoshihiro Akiyama on September 20th.

Musoke (12-3) will be looking to rebound from a decision loss to Kelvin Gastelum, which ended the Swedish fighter’s eight fight undefeated streak.

Yakovlev (21-5-1) is also coming off a decision loss, as the welterweight was decisioned by Demian Maia in May. The Russian vet is 3-2 in his last 5 bouts.

UFC FN 53 will be hosted by the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden and will feature Gunnar Nelson vs. Rick Story in the headliner.
