The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced that established Polish veteran, Jan Blachowicz, will make his Octagon debut on October 4th.

The light-heavyweight will battle Sweden’s Ilir Latifi at UFC Fight Night 53, which will go down at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm.

Blachowicz (17-3) joins the UFC having won five straight fights, which includes victories over UFC vets Goran Reljic, Houston Alexander, Mario Miranda and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou.

The only man to defeat the 31 year-old in his last ten fights is Sokoudjou, who stopped Blachowicz in their first meeting.

Latifi (9-3) has scored wins over Cyrille Diabate and most recently Chris Dempsey, after he was decisioned by Gegard Mousasi last April.

The main event for UFC FN 53 has yet to be announced.
