Thiago Alves is dealing with another injury, following UFC Fight Night 67, but the welterweight contender promises he’ll return better than ever.

The feared striker had his nose severely broken by a Carlos Condit elbow in the card’s headliner, and as a result, he was not allowed to come out for round three.

Following the bout, Alves posted the following picture and comments on Instagram.

Obrigado #UFCGoiania————– Unfortunately it wasn't my night. But that's how it is at the highest level of competition. A small setback is a great setup for a bigger comeback! I'll learn from my mistakes and get a lot better. I won't stop until I have that belt around my waist! Now back to the grind. Just wanna first thank God for blessing with this life. And a massive THANK YOU to all my fans for the support. And @ufc for this opportunity. I will be back!!!

Alves has fought only four times since 2011 due to a rash of injuries. The ATT fighter is 3-2 in his last 5 outings.
