Alan Jouban’s next fight will not take place in his home state of Louisiana after all, as the UFC has announced that the welterweight has withdrawn from the promotion’s June 6th card in New Orleans.

According to the official announcement, Jouban has incurred an elbow injury and will not fight Brian Ebersole as scheduled. Stepping in for Jouban, however, will be Omari Akhmedov.

Akhmedov (14-2) is coming off a decision win over Mats Nilsson in January, after he was submitted by Gunnar Nelson last March.

Ebersole (51-16-1) will be looking to build on the split decision he scored over John Howard in September. Prior to that, the well travelled vet was decisioned by Rick Story and James Head in back-to-back fights.

UFC FN 68 will be hosted by the Smoothie King Center on June 6th.
