After going 1-2 in his first three UFC bouts, Jussier “Formiga” has done nothing but win, and the flyweight contender says a new found belief in his abilities is a key reason why.

“Formiga” made his way to the UFC back in 2012, and at the time, he was widely heralded as one of the top 125’ers in the world. The renowned grappler was stopped by John Dodson in his first Octagon appearance, and after “Formiga” defeated Chris Cariaso, he was taken out by Joseph Benavidez.

Since then, however, “Formiga” has defeated Scott Jorgensen, Zach Makovsky, and Wilson Reis, and is ranked #3 as a result. On Saturday, at UFC FN 78, he’ll take on rising bantamweight Henry Cejudo.

Recently “Formiga” spoke with UFC.com, and while discussing his recent run, the fighter stated this:

“I think I changed my self-confidence as a fighter,” the 30 year-old said. “And the fact is, I felt better to handle the pressure of the UFC. I think all fighters like the pressure, but the difference is that some know how to handle it and some don’t.”

UFC FN 78 will take place in Monterrey, Mexico.
