After being taken out by Albert Tumenov in his last outing, Alan Jouban is reporting that he’s the best fighter he’s ever been, as he gets ready for UFC Fight Night 85.

Jouban is scheduled to take on Brendan O’Reilly this Saturday, in the latter’s hometown of Brisbane, Australia. The welterweight will be looking to get back on track, after Tumenov stopped him in the opening round with strikes at UFC 192 in October.

Recently Jouban spoke to UFC.com about this weekend’s fight, and the 33 year-old American had this to say:

“I feel more in sync, and I feel like I’m the best fighter I’ve ever been going into this fight,” Jouban said. “A lot of guys say that, and I don’t know if I was saying that the last fight, but if I did, I was lying (Laughs) because in the last fight I felt like I had a wet blanket on top of me throughout the whole camp. I couldn’t shake it. But I took time off (after the fight), I went back to the drawing board and improved in some areas and changed my training up a little bit. I promise you, this is the most confident I’ve ever felt going into this fight. I see an early stoppage. I don’t see a back and forth war.”

Jouban (12-4) has gone 3-2 in the UFC to date. O’Reilly (6-1), is 1-1 in the Octagon.

UFC FN 85 will feature a heavyweight bout between Mark Hunt and Frank Mir in the main event.
