Although Patrick Cote has fought in the UFC an impressive 19 times, and challenged Anderson Silva for the middleweight title back in 2008, Donald Cerrone admits he’s never seen “The Predator” fight…

Recently the UFC announced that Cerrone will face the heavy handed, welterweight at UFC Fight Night 89, which will take place on June 18th in Ottawa. The lightweight contender spoke with MMA Junkie.com after the bout was announced, and Cerrone relayed the following:

“I’ve never seen him (fight),” Cerrone saide. “I know he fought Anderson Silva. I don’t remember that fight. I know he fought my buddy Kyle Noke, but I didn’t see any of it. I don’t watch footage or watch anybody, so it’s not talking down to the guy at all. It’s not him. I just don’t pay attention.”

Cerrone also reported in the interview that he intends to fight at 155 pounds again, but that since he wanted to fight sooner than later, he agreed to face Cote.

Cote (23-9) is coming off a stoppage win over Ben Saunders in February and has won three straight. Cerrone (29-7), meanwhile, submitted Alex Oliveira in his last bout, after being stopped by lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos in December.
