By FCF Staff
After working his way to a win over Rony “Jason” at UFC Fight Night 92, Dennis Bermudez called out Frankie Edgar, and following the event “The Menace” explained why.
Bermudez earned a clear cut, unanimous decision win over “Jason” at the event, and then challenged Edgar to fight, November 12th at UFC 205. During his post-fight, backstage interview, Bermudez relayed the following:
“I’ve always thought that would be a great fight against Frankie Edgar,” said Berdmudez, while discussing his call out of Edgar. “He’s got a similar style to me. He’s a great wrestler, great movement and striking. A win over Frankie Edgar gets me a title shot I think.”
With last night’s win, Bermudez has gone 8-2 in his last ten fights. Prior to the event the fighter was currently ranked #8 at 145.
Edgar, meanwhile, is coming off a decision loss to Jose Aldo at UFC 200 in July.
