Although John Dodson has failed on two occasions to defeat the UFC’s flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson, the heavy handed fighter says he still believes he’s the best fighter on planet earth.

Following Dodson’s decision loss to Johnson last September, “The Magician” returned to the bantamweight division, and quickly stopped Manny Gamburyan this past April. This Saturday, Dodson will take on fellow contender John Lineker, in a bout that will headline UFC FN 96.

While speaking to UFC.com in advance of the bout, Dodson (18-7) had this to say about his plan to win the 135 belt, and others.

“I know I can have a successful run,” Dodson said. “It’s not a matter of if I believe in it or not; I know. I believe one hundred percent that I’m the best fighter in the world, no matter what weight class it is. I can even go to heavyweight and I think I can sit there and outdo anybody in that weight class.”

Lineker (287), meanwhile, is coming off a knockout win over Michael McDonald in July. The noted finisher is riding a five fight winning streak.

UFC FN 96 will take place in Portland, Oregon.
