UFC FN 99: Uriah Hall Weighs-In on Trilogy Bout With Gegard Mousasi, Latter’s Title Shot Campaign
By FCF Staff
Now that Uriah Hall has one win and one loss against Gegard Mousasi, the middleweight is interested in fighting his fellow contender yet again.
The two battled in the headliner of UFC Fight Night 99, which took Saturday in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Mousasi finished the fight in the opening round with strikes, and in doing so, avenged his stoppage loss to Hall last September.
After the bout Hall was asked about the possibility of fighting Mousasi for a third time, and the dangerous striker said this (quote via MMA Junkie.com):
“It’s 1-1,” Hall said. “I do think he deserves a title shot, though – he worked his ass off. Maybe down the line when he gets it, we’ll cross paths again. Nothing against the guy – he brings out the best in me. I’m sure I do to him. I’m sure after my last fight he said, ‘You know what? F this, man. I shouldn’t have lost to this guy.’ We’ve seen him win; he’s been dominating. I lit a fire under his ass. But I’m sure down the line, respectfully, I would like to go up against him again.”
With the victory, Mousasi moved his winning streak to four and was ranked #5 heading into the bout. Hall, who has lost three straight, is positioned in the #10 spot.
