UFC Kansas City Bonuses: Edson Barboza Grabs Extra $50 K With Booming KO
By FCF Staff
Not surprisingly, Edson Barboza was one of the fighters to take home a bonus, following UFC Kansas City.
The longtime contender finished featherweight Billy Quarantillo with a booming knee in round one, and received a “Performance of the Night” and an extra $50,000.
Gillian Robertson and Brandon Royval also picked up “Performance of the Night” awards. Robertson tapped Piera Rodriguez with a second-round, armbar and Royval stopped Matheus Nicolau in round one with strikes.
“Fight of the Night”, and $50K respectively, went to TJ Brown and Bill Algeo. The latter finished the fight in round two with a rear-naked choke.
After the event, UFC President Dana White announced that Ed Herman and Zak Cummings were each receiving $50K. Both men announced Saturday they were retiring following their fight, which saw Cummings won via third-round, TKO.
