Benson Henderson was one of the sport’s more impressive performers in 2012, and the UFC Lightweight Champion has apparently been rewarded by his employers with a new, eight fight contract for his efforts. The 29 year-old-fighter, who went 3-0 last year and secured the 155 pound championship, posted on his official Twitter account:

New 8-fight deal, keeps me reppin’ these 3 lil letters, @UFC, I love it…

Henderson defeated Frankie Edgar by unanimous decision last February to become lightweight champ, and then he proceeded to hand the decorated fighter a follow up split decision loss in August.

Most recently, at UFC on FOX 5 in December, Henderson (18-2) dominated Nate Diaz for the unanimous decision win.

The Arizona fighter has won six straight fights since arriving in the UFC, after losing by unanimous decision to Anthony Pettis at the final WEC event in December, 2010.
