As Ben Askren continues to campaign for a fight with the winner of tomorrow’s bout between Jorge Masdvidal and Darren Till, the latter’s reminding “Funky” he’s the higher ranked fighter.

Following Askren’s controversial win over Robbie Lawler at UFC 235 earlier this month, the decorated fighter’s said he wants to face the winner of Masvidal – Till, rather than Lawler again. Askren is in London this week to attend Saturday’s UFC card.

Till briefly interrupted a Q&A Askren was doing with fans, and when talking to the media about a possible showdown with the contender, the British star said this (quote via MMA Junkie):

“Askren’s fight comes,” Till said. “But Askren’s been in the UFC five minutes. It’s not about what he wants. It’s about what I want.

“I’m here. I’m No. 3. Seven fights, four main events. I call the shots, not Ben. And the champ will be calling the shots.”

“I know the champ wants to fight me,” Till said while talking about Kamaru Usman. “I’ve spoken about it with him face-to-face. So all goes well for me on Saurday, I’m praying, and then I’m campaigning for that title shot.”

Till hasn’t fought since he was submitted by now former champ, Tyron Woodley in September.
