Dominick Reyes remains an undefeated fighter, following UFC London, but Volkan Oezdemir doesn’t think that should be the case.

The light-heavyweight contenders fought on the event’s main card, and Reyes emerged from the fight with a split decision win via scores of 29-28, 28-29, 29-28. While discussing the fight afterward, Oezdemir had this to say about the judges’ scoring (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“Even the coaches of Reyes came to me before the judges announcement and after the judges announcement and told me I was winning the fight,” Oezdemir said. “I don’t want to say it’s (expletive). Maybe I should have produced a little more, but I clearly won the fight.

“I was the better man tonight, and unfortunately the judges didn’t see it that way.”

According to the fight’s stats, Reyes landed 44 significant strikes while Oezdemir scored with 35. The latter landed more strikes overall, however, by a slim 48-47 margin. Oezdemir also landed one takedown in the contest.

The defeat was Oezdemir’s third straight and dropped his record to 14-4. Reyes now carries a record of 11-0.
