UFC Mexico Results: Brandon Royval And Brian Ortega Record Pivotal Wins
By FCF Staff
The UFC’s latest event in Mexico took place on Saturday, and it saw Brandon Royval and Brian Ortega record pivotal wins.
Royval faced former flyweight champ Brandon Moreno in the headliner, and worked his way to a split decision win. With the victory, Royval returned to the win column, as he was coming off a unanimous decision loss to champion Alexandre Pantoja.
Royval and Moreno fought for the first time in 2020, and the latter recorded a first-round, stoppage win.
In the co-main event, Brian Ortega took some heavy punishment from Yair Rodriguez in round one, but came back to submit the featherweight with a third-round, arm-triangle-choke.
Ortega hadn’t competed since 2022, when he injured his shoulder in a fight with Rodriguez and the bout was stopped.
