UFC Not Considering Michael Bisping vs. Luke Rockhold Next
By FCF Staff
Although there’s apparently no shortage of bad blood between Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold, the UFC has announced that it’s looking at another fight for the latter.
Since Bisping’s stoppage win over Cung Le last weekend, the middleweight and Rockhold have continued to spar verbally, raising speculation whether the grudge match will get booked.
In a follow up report from UFC.com, however, the promotion’s president Dana White relayed the following:
“We’re looking at Rockhold-Machida in Brazil. That’s what we’re looking at.”
The news isn’t shocking, as recently it was reported that both Machida and Rockhold have expressed an interest in facing each other. While Rockhold has also campaigned for a bout with Bisping, the UFC is clearly looking in Machida’s direction.
From a ranking’s perspective, the fight would make more sense for Rockhold, as he’s positioned at #5 while Machida is #2. Bisping is currently ranked #8.
