Travis Browne came out firing for his UFC on FOX 11 headliner versus Fabricio Werdum, but as the fight wore on, the latter picked apart the rising heavyweight with punches and kicks. Well, according to information UFC President Dana White was given afterwards, Browne may have incurred two injuries early in the fight.

According to multiple reports, White relayed that Browne may have broken his rib in the first round. In addition, White noted that Browne “definitely” has a broken hand. Browne’s camp has yet to relay any update regarding the fighter’s status.

Although Browne stayed in the fight for 25 minutes, Werdum cruised to victory by securing several takedowns and dominating the stand-up exchanges.

Before White was informed of Browne’s injuries, he had the following to say about Werdum’s win to FOX Sports 2:

“Werdum looked good tonight. He picked Browne apart. And in the first round, Werdum took a bomb. I thought the fight was over there. But he came back and he fought a great fight. Travis looked like he gassed out. The big question I have was how was Travis gassed out in the first two minutes of the first round? Werdum could have finished the fight. He played it safe at the end to get the shot at the title.”

With the victory, the Brazilian has locked up a title fight with champion Cain Velasquez, who is recovering from shoulder surgery.
