UFC on FOX 12 has received a change, as Michael Johnson has been forced to withdraw from a bout with Josh Thomson due to injury. As a result, Bobby Green has agreed to step in and fight Thomson at the July 26th card, which will go down at the SAP Center in San Jose.
Thomson (20-6) will be competing for the first time since January, when he dropped a split decision to former lightweight champ Benson Henderson.
Green (22-5), meanwhile, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Pat Healy in December.
The lightweight had been scheduled to fight Abel Trujillo at UFC Fight Night 47 on August 16th. As a result of Green’s move to UFC on FOX 12, the promotion has announced Ross Pearson will take on Trujillo at UFC FN 47.
Trujillo (12-5) scored a knockout win over Jamie Varner in his last outing, while Pearson (15-7) lost an extremely controversial, split decision to Diego Sanchez.
UFC FN 47 will be hosted by the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.
