UFC on FOX 12: Kyle Kingsbury to Face Patrick Cummins

Kingsbury

Kyle Kingsbury will step into the Octagon, for the first time in nearly two years on July 26th, when he takes on Patrick Cummins.

The light-heavyweight fight will be part of UFC on FOX 12, which will go down at San Jose’s SAP Arena. News of the match-up was reported by FOX Sports.com, and was re-tweeted by the UFC.

Kingsbury (11-5) hasn’t fought since September, 2012, when he was stopped by Jimi Manuwa. The loss was the veteran’s third in a row, and since then, there was speculation that Kingsbury may elect to retire.

Recently it was reported, however, that the San Jose fighter was planning to return to action. Prior to the defeats, Kingsbury had won four bouts in a row.

Cummins (5-1) is coming off a second round, stoppage win over Roger Narvaez at UFC FN 42 last weekend, after he was quickly TKO’d by Daniel Cormier in February.

UFC on FOX 12 will feature a welterweight bout between contenders Matt Brown and Robbie Lawler in the main event.
