Gegard Mousasi has been criticized by some for being too reserved in the cage, but the former Strikeforce champ believes his finishing rate speaks for itself.

Mousasi is set to battle the legendary Dan Henderson today at UFC on FOX 14, and recently the middleweight spoke to UFC.com about the match-up. When asked to respond to aforementioned criticism, Mousasi stated:

“Respectfully, I don’t agree with those critics,” Mousasi said. “I am a relaxed fighter, and I look at fighting from an intellectual perspective. I believe in fighting smart. That should not be confused with fighting lazy, especially when you look at my finish rate on my professional record. I finish most of my fights.”

The 29 year-old fighter, who has already amassed an impressive record of 35-5-2, is coming off as submission loss to “Jacare” Souza. Prior to that, in May of last year, Mousasi tapped out Mark Munoz in the opening round.

The Holland resident has scored finishes in 9 of his last 10 victories.

UFC on FOX 14 will be hosted by the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
