UFC on FOX 8: Means Replacing Green, Voelker Stepping in for Bahadurzada
By FCF Staff
The July 27th, UFC on FOX 8 card has received a couple of late changes, as the promotion has announced that lightweight Bobby Green and welterweight Siyar Bahadurzada have withdrawn due to injuries.
Stepping in for Green, versus Danny Castillo, will be Tim Means. The FIT NHB fighter (18-4-1) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Jorge Masvidal in April, after stopping Justin Salas at a UFC on FX event last June.
Replacing Bahadurzada, who was scheduled to fight Robbie Lawler, is Bobby Voelker. The Strikeforce vet was initially set to fight James Head at UFC 164 on August 31st, and is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Patrick Cote at UFC 158 in March.
Voelker is the third opponent that Lawler has been booked to face now. Originally, former Strikeforce champ Tarec Saffiedine was scheduled to fight the powerful striker.
UFC on FOX 8 will be hosted by Seattle’s Key Arena and will feature flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson taking on John Moraga in the main event.
