The Nokia Plaza, in Los Angeles, California was the host venue for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s latest press conference today, which was held to help promote its upcoming, November 12th debut on FOX.

The UFC on FOX 1 card will be hosted by Anaheim’s Honda Center, and will feature a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and number one contender Junior dos Santos in the main event.

The headliner will be broadcast live on FOX, while the remaining fights will be streamed live on Facebook and FOX Sports.com.

Here were some of the highlights from today’s press conference, which featured Velasquez, dos Santos and UFC President Dana White.

FOX Sports Co-President Randy Freer thanked the UFC for putting together the November 12th card, which is being held a couple of months before the network’s new, seven year broadcast deal with the promotion officially begins.

White acknowledged that the Velasquez, dos Santos fight is the biggest to date in the promotion’s history, due to the fact that “millions of people” who haven’t seen MMA could be watching.

Dos Santos said that he’s feeling “the same pressure” for this fight that he did for his last bout, despite the fact it’s for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Velasquez stated that both he and dos Santos have “exciting” fight styles and that they both “move forward” at all times.

Dos Santos agreed with Velasquez’s analysis of the fight and added that the bout “will be a war.”

The challenger also added that he believes Velasquez is the number one heavyweight right now, but that he will “change that Saturday.”

Velasquez stated that he believes his quickness and extensive experience wrestling bigger men, are reasons why he can compete effectively against larger heavyweights.

Dos Santos said he doesn’t think that he’s that undersized of a heavyweight, before adding that the difference between himself, Velasquez and other heavier fighters in the division is their speed.

The Brazilian dos Santos acknowledged that more people in Anaheim will be cheering for Velasquez, but furthered that he knows “lots of people” will be rooting for him around the world. The heavyweight also stated that he hopes to make the heavyweight championship a “Brazilian belt.”

Velasquez stated that he “plans on taking this fight everywhere,” and that although he expects to trade with dos Santos standing, he will be looking for openings and takedowns.

When asked if the upcoming main event is attracting more attention internationally, on account of the fact that the fight features heavyweights, White said that “people from all over the world are dying to see it.”

Dos Santos said that although he’s “ready to go five rounds”, he thinks that the fight will finish before. White agreed with dos Santos, while Velasquez relayed that he believes the fight will go the distance.

White said that the UFC on FOX 1 card is not intended to compete with Saturday’s Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez boxing match, citing the fact that the Velasquez, dos Santos bout will take place earlier.
