Ufc On Msnbc

UFC On MSNBC

MSNBC Investigates Extreme Fighting is scheduled to air tomorrow night (Thursday, January 4) at 8pm (Eastern time) on MSNBC. It is scheduled for rebroadcast at 11pm and again at 5am Friday morning. The show runs for one hour. Hopefully it will be an evenhanded report. Producer Sam Juneau brought a camera crew to UFC 27 in New Orleans to cover the show, so there should be footage from that event as well as some smaller amateur shows. Check your local listings for show times in your area.

From the event’s promoter:

HOOKnSHOOT announces their 2001 schedule!
SHOOTO & SUBMISSION WRESTLING
IN THE WORKS FOR 2001!

Jeff Osborne, HnS promoter states "For 2001, we are changing our formula a little bit. For the past two years, HnS and the Abu Dhabi Qualifiers have run together, and we got involved with SHOOTO in 2000, and these corroborations were a great success. In 2001, we want to concentrate more on developing the sport aspect of Mixed Martial arts with SHOOTO, and we want to take the Submission Wrestling and get that more attention as well".

"SHOOTO has been a great addition for us, their organization is someone we hope to continue working with. By the end of 2001, we would like to be doing SHOOTO 100% of the time in HnS. In March we will retire our Pancrase division, and all the matches we have for this year will use SHOOTO rules. We want to use the year to strengthen the ties further, if we can" continues Osborne.

"As for the qualifiers, we hope that our 2001 tournaments will be official American Qualifiers again as they have been for the past two years. That has been an honor, and at the 2001 event HnS will have 5 representatives. We hope in 2002 to send a team again, and the 5 qualifying tournaments will be held in one day, in September of 2001. Overwhelming feedback from fans and competitors alike tell us this is a preferred format. We also want to announce that the ADCC will be modifying the criteria for application to these tournaments that will be geared towards giving new competitors a chance to compete. More details to come, but overall, we are excited about the big ADCC weekend are planning!" concludes Osborne.
