UFC Rankings: Kennedy Joins Top 10, Davis Cracks Top 5
By FCF Staff
Not only did Tim Kennedy deliver a highlight reel knockout in the main event of UFC Fight Night 31 on Wednesday, but the army vet has joined the promotion’s top ten middleweight ranks as a result.
The promotion has released the latest rankings, which are voted on by a panel of media members, and Kennedy has moved into the #10 spot. Former number one contender Chael Sonnen, who has been fighting at light-heavyweight throughout 2013, is no longer in the top ten.
Kennedy knocked out Rafael Natal with a thumping left hook to record his second UFC win.
In the co-main-event, Alexis Davis worked her way to a unanimous decision win over Liz Carmouche, and the bantamweight has moved into the top five rankings as a result. Following the victory Davis is ranked #3, while Carmouche has dropped three spots to #7.
“Fight for the Troops III” was hosted by Kentucky’s Fort Campbell.
