Following Robbie Lawler’s championship win at UFC 181 the welterweight’s stock has never been higher, and that’s reflected in the promotion’s new rankings.

Lawler worked his way to a split decision victory over Johny Hendricks on Saturday night, and after securing the welterweight belt, the veteran has been voted into the #11, pound-for-pound ranking spot. The feared slugger was not ranked in the P4P rankings prior to this weekend.

Hendricks, meanwhile, dropped three positions in the P4P rankings and is now sitting at #12.  Hendricks is also ranked #1 now in the welterweight division.

UFC 181 also saw lightweight champ Anthony Pettis submit Gilbert Melendez, and the latter has slipped from the #1 contender ranking to #2. Renowned grappler Khabib Nurmagomedov has moved into the #1 contender position.

Raquel Pennington also benefited from her win over Ashlee Evans-Smith on Saturday, as the bantamweight has risen up a spot and is now ranked #12.

UFC 181 was hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The UFC rankings are determined by a group of media members following each event.
