UFC Releases Statement After Yoel Romero Notified of Potential Anti-Doping Policy Violation
By FCF Staff
After possibly locking up a title shot in December at UFC 194, Yoel Romero has reportedly been told by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency that he’s been flagged for a potential, anti-doping violation.
On Tuesday, the UFC released the following statement:
The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) informed Yoel Romero of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection.
USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case involving Romero. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.
Yomero worked his way to a split decision over “Jacare” Souza last month, and as a result, the decorated wrestler was in the running to face middleweight champion Luke Rockhold next.
