UFC Returning to Dublin, Ireland in October
By FCF Staff
Not long after the Ultimate Fighting Championship confirmed that Ireland’s Conor McGregor will no longer fight Jose Aldo, July 11th, the promotion announced an October 24th show for Dublin. The upcoming event will be hosted by the 3 Arena.
The last time the UFC held a card in Dublin was last July, which featured McGregor stopping Diego Brandao in the opening round. No details regarding the October 24th card have been announced.
“Ireland has been such an important market to the UFC and we couldn’t let a year go by without delivering another spectacular event for the fans in the capital”, Joe Carr, the promotion’s international vice president said in the official announcement. “We’re looking forward to showcasing both local and international talent at the event and hopefully getting the decibel counter higher this year round.”
Due to the withdrawal of the injured Aldo, McGregor will fight Chad Mendes for the interim featherweight title at UFC 189.
