UFC Says Mike Pierce’s Win Over Carlos Eduardo Rocha Changed to Unanimous Decision

Mike Pierce

By FCF Staff

If some fans were left scratching their heads after it was announced at UFC on FX 3 that a judge had decided that Carlos Eduardo Rocha had in fact defeated Mike Pierce, it appears as though a scoring error was responsible for the surprising score.

After the June 8th bout, it was announced that two judges had awarded Pierce a 30-37 score and the other, had scored it the same way in favor of Rocha. Considering that Pierce controlled and outscored Rocha throughout much of the fight, many observers were shocked by the split decision result.

According to a recent tweet from the UFC, however, a “judge scored for the wrong corner in Pierce vs. Rocha, @MikePierce170 won a UD, not SD.”

The UFC on FX 3 card took place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

With the win, Pierce extended his record to 14-5, and rebounded from a split decision loss he incurred against Josh Koscheck in February.

The welterweight has gone 6-3 to date in the UFC.
