UFC St. Louis: Derrick Lewis Records Yet Another Stoppage Win
By FCF Staff
The consensus ahead of UFC St. Louis was that the main event would not go the distance, and Derrick Lewis ensured that was the case.
Lewis faced fellow heavyweight contender Rodrigo Nascimento in the card’s headliner, and in round three, he stunned the latter badly with a right hook. As Nascimento worked to recover, Lewis prompted the referee’s intervention with punches from above.
With the TKO win, Lewis extended his UFC record for stoppages via strikes to 15. Heading into the bout, Lewis (28-12) was ranked#12 in the UFC’s heavyweight division and Nascimento (11-2) was sitting in the #15 spot.
