UFC Suspends Nate Diaz, Investigating Controversial Tweet

Nate Diaz

By FCF Staff

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced that Nate Diaz has been suspended and that the promotion has initiated an investigation, regarding a tweet the fighter posted that included a gay slur.

“We are very disappointed by Nate Diaz’s comments, which are in no way reflective of our organization. Nate is currently suspended pending internal investigation and we will provide further comment once the matter has been decided.”

Diaz used a derogatory term in the post, which appeared directed at Bryan Caraway, who recently was awarded “Submission of the Night” honors after Pat Healy was stripped of the award.

It was announced recently that Healy tested positive for marijuana following his April 27th win over Jim Miller. The victory has been overturned to a no-contest and Healy is ineligible for any performance bonuses.
