Recently Justin Gaethje blasted Conor McGregor, over the star’s latest, highly publicized incident, and the lightweight contender isn’t backing off.

Following the release of a video that showed McGregor punching an elderly man in a Dublin pub, Gaethje fired verbal shots at the fighter and said he was bad role model. In advance of Gaethje’s bout this Saturday with Donald Cerrone, the former WSOF champ stood by his previous comments (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“Facts are facts,” Gaethje said. “You cannot represent yourself in the public eye like that and expect your child to respect what you do. You are an influence. You are a hero to your children, and you are a fool to think they are not going to follow in your footsteps.”

“I’ve got a human services major – social work. Being here is just a circumstance of my life. To see him treat people like that, to see him take a phone, even before he takes the phone and smashes it, to see him walk around with his chest in the air like that, do not represent yourself like that. I will never respect you.”

Recently McGregor apologized for hitting the man, and the controversial fighter also said he will accept any repercussion that comes his way as a result of the incident. Earlier this year McGregor made headlines after he smashed the phone of a man who attempted to take his picture.

Cerrone – Gaethje will headline UFC Vancouver, which will be hosted by the city’s Rogers Arena.
