A rematch between Magomed Ankalaev and Ion Cutelaba has been postponed again, as a positive test for COVID-19 has led to the late cancellation.

The light heavyweights were scheduled to fight today at UFC Vegas 8. But, recently the UFC released this statement.

Due to a positive COVID-19 test, Ion Cutelaba’s light heavyweight bout against Magomed Ankalaev has been removed from today’s card and will be rescheduled for a later date.

Cutelaba faced Ankalaev in February and lost via TKO. But, the fight’s stoppage was widely viewed as controversial, since Cutelaba appeared to be playing possum.

The two were booked to fight again in April, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event was cancelled. The fight was rescheduled for August 15th,  but Cutelaba tested positive for COVID-19 and the bout was postponed once more.
