Another of MMA’s most experienced vets has called it quits after a decade plus career, as former UFC and WEC competitor Bart Palaszewski has announced he’s retiring at the age of 30.

The Illinois fighter, who hasn’t fought since last April when he was defeated by Cole Miller at the TUF 17 Finale, recently announced his decision via Twitter.

Palaszewski (36-17) was released by the UFC, following his loss to Miller, as the defeat was his third straight. After knocking out Tyson Griffin at UFC 137, which earned Palaszewski “Knockout of the Night” honors, he dropped decisions to Hatsu Hioki and Diego Nunes before facing Miller.

“Bartimus” made his pro debut in 2002, and during his career he scored wins over established vets like Anthony Pettis, John Gunderson, Ivan Menjivar and Ryan Schultz, among several others.
