After shocking the MMA world last August by announcing he was retiring from fighting at the age of 26, Frankie Perez has announced that he’s returning to the cage.

Following a quick, knockout win over Sam Stout at UFC FN 74, Perez said the bout was going to be his last. The New Jersey lightweight appeared on the latest “MMA Hour” on Monday, however, and announced he’s decided to fight again.

Perez relayed that he’s enjoying training once again, and has a passion to fight once more as a result.

The 10-2 fighter said his camp hasn’t spoke with the UFC just yet, but that he expects to return to the promotion.
