Krzysztof Soszynski

By FCF Staff

After competing in nearly 40 pro MMA fights, the last of which was in 2011, Krzysztof Soszynski has announced he’s retiring from the sport at age 37.

Soszynski, who has not fought  since he was knocked out by Igor Pokrajac in December, 2011, announced the news on AXS TV’s “Inside MMA.”

The UFC vet relayed that following the knockout defeat, he had issues with his memory, even after he took a six month break from training. Soszynski added he was booked to return to action in December, 2012, but in his first sparring session, a lightweight hit him once in the jaw and his “brain literally said no more.”

Soszynski also said he continues to have issues with his memory to this day. The noted finisher furthered that his memory isn’t “getting worse but it’s not getting any better.”

The Canadian fighter (26-12-1), who resides in the U.S. now, went 6-3 during his run in the UFC.
