Not long after Bart Palaszewski has announced he’s retiring at the age of 30, another UFC veteran, Mac Danzig, has relayed he’s hanging up the gloves at the age of 34.

The TUF 6 winner has announced he’s exiting the sport after going 21-12-1 as a professional fighter, in a career that began back in 2001.

Danzig announced his decision in an interview with MMA Junkie.com, and cited concerns of concussions he’s incurred recently as a determining factor. The vet also relayed that he noticed his ability to absorb strikes to the head diminished last year, and that he was knocked out in practice prior to facing Melvin Guillard last July. Danzig lost by KO to Guillard at UFC on FOX 8.

During Danzig’s accomplished career, he scored wins over established vets like Joe Stevenson, Mark Bocek, and Efrain Escudero among others. Most recently, at UFC on FOX 9 in December, Danzig lost via unanimous decision to Joe Lauzon.
