Blagoy Ivanov dropped his UFC debut to Junior dos Santos in July, 2018, and the former WSOF heavyweight champ says he did so with pre-fight injuries.

Ivanov faced dos Santos at UFC FN 133 and lost the fight via unanimous decision. The loss snapped the Bulgarian fighter’s five-fight winning streak.

In advance of his bout tonight with Ben Rothwell, Ivanov (16-2) reported that he faced dos Santos with injuries in both knees (quote via MMA Junkie):

“I took the fight like that, and after the fight, I had two torn meniscus in my left knee”

“To put more pressure on him, what I missed in the last fight,” Ivanov added, while discussing his plan for Rothwell.

Ivanov – Rothwell will be part of UFC Wichita, which will feature dos Santos taking on Derrick Lewis in the main event.
