Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

By FCF Staff

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has been booked for his next bout, as the legendary fighter will battle Stefan Struve at UFC 190 on August 1st.

The fight will mark the first time Nogueira (34-9-1) has fought since April, 2014, when he was KO’d by Roy Nelson. The 38 year-old fighter has battled injuries in recent years, and has only fought three times since 2011. During that time the former interim heavyweight champ has gone 1-2.

Struve (25-7), meanwhile, is also coming off a knockout loss, as the massive fighter was stopped by Alistair Overeem in December. That fight marked the first time Struve had fought since he was diagnosed with a rare heart condition in 2013. The 27 year-old heavyweight is 3-2 in his last 5 bouts.

UFC 190 will be hosted by the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the main event, bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey will take on Bethe Correia.

Nogueira’s twin brother, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, is scheduled to fight “Shogun” Rua at the event as well.
