Dana White may have said earlier this year that the UFC wouldn’t be adding another  women’s divisions any time soon, but the company’s brass has evidently changed its mind.

While appearing on the The Fighter & The Kid podcast today, which is hosted by Bryan Callen and Brendan Schaub, White announced that the promotion is going to add a women’s 115 pound division. No specific details regarding when women strawweights will begin fighting, however, were disclosed.

For some time, White was not a proponent of adding women to the UFC roster, but after the success of Ronda Rousey in Strikeforce he changed his mind. Since the introduction of the women’s bantamweight division several memorable bouts have taken place, and Rousey and Miesha Tate were chosen to coach TUF 18.

White also conceded about women’s MMA during the show that “I never in a million years thought that it would take off the way that it has.”

Rousey and Tate will fight for a second time at UFC 168 on December 28th.
