UFC’s Dana White Believes Wanderlei Silva Still in “Big Trouble” With NSAC

Although Wanderlei Silva relayed in a recent video that he has been able to “clarify” with the Nevada Commission why he skipped out on a recent drug test, Dana White believes the fighter is still in hot water.

The UFC President was asked to weigh in on Silva’s situation, and the star’s new video, in a recent interview with UFC.com. Here is some of what White had to say:

“I’m not the athletic commission, but I think he’s very wrong,” White said. “I think he’s in big trouble. You can not run away from a test. You can’t do it, and it sets a very bad precedent. He would have been better off taking the test and testing positive than running from the test. But I’m not a commission member. Maybe I’m wrong and he’s right. We’ll see what happens.”

Silva was pulled from a scheduled, July 5th bout with Chael Sonnen recently, after he failed to take a random drug test from the NSAC. The fighter informed the commission that he did so because he was taking diuretics, in an effort to heal a wrist injury he incurred during a brawl with Sonnen on TUF Brazil III.

The NSAC is going to review Silva’s case, and announce in the coming weeks if any disciplinary action is going to be carried out.
