Although Dana White recently said that the UFC is looking to match Luke Rockhold up against Lyoto Machida next, the promotion’s president has reportedly changed his mind.

Since Bisping’s stoppage win over Cung Le at UFC Fight Night 48, the British middleweight and Rockhold have continued to spar verbally. Despite their growing rivalry, however, White relayed that the UFC was more interested in Machida-Rockhold.

Well, while talking with FOX Sports following the weigh-ins for UFC FN 50 on Thursday, White told Bisping himself that he likes the idea of a fight with Rockhold. The UFC President added that the promotion needs to sign Bisping to a new deal, but once that’s done, he hopes to book “The Count” versus Rockhold.

Rockhold is currently ranked #5 in the UFC’s middleweight division while Bisping is positioned at #8.
