UFC’s Michael Bisping Calls For Year Round PED Testing and Harsher Penalties

Michael Bisping

By FCF Staff

Michael Bisping has long been an outspoken critic of performance enhancing drug users, and following the latest wave of PED scandals to hit MMA, he believes more needs to be done regarding the issue.

Bisping, who is scheduled to fight CB Dollaway at UFC 186 on April 25th, had this to say about the subject on the latest edition of “UFC Tonight” (quote via FOX Sports press release):

“Dana White said if people are using it, they’re going to get caught. We’re seeing that. For people who don’t know too much about the sport and see legends like Anderson Silva get caught, it looks bad and leaves a bad tasted in people’s mouths. I’d like to see every main event and co-main event get tested, plus two or three guys on the card randomly tested, plus random testing before fights. There has to be year-round random testing and harsher penalties.”

The aforementioned Silva is scheduled to appear in front of the Nevada Commission on February 17th. Silva has denied using any type of PED.

Hector Lombard, who has also allegedly tested positive for steroids recently, is expected to be addressed at the hearing.
