By FCF Staff
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced that its December 6th event in Las Vegas, Nevada, will in fact feature both Pettis brothers in action.
Lightweight champion Anthony Pettis was already set to fight Gilbert Melendez at UFC 181, but now the promotion has confirmed that bantamweight Sergio Pettis will fight Matt Hobar that same night.
The 21 year-old Pettis (11-1) worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Yaotzin Meza in his last outing, which took place at a UFC Fight Night 42 in June. Prior to that the bantamweight was defeated by Alex Caceres, who tapped Pettis out with a third round, rear-naked-choke in January.
Hobar (9-2) is also coming off a UD victory, as he decisioned Aaron Philips at UFC FN 49 in August. In Hobar’s Octagon debut this past May, he was stopped by Pedro Munhoz in round one.
UFC 181 will be hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will also see welterweight champ Johny Hendricks battle Robbie Lawler.
