UFC’s Tim Kennedy Warns “Shogun” Rua to Avoid Middleweight Divison
By FCF Staff
Recently, “Shogun” Rua said he will consider changing weight classes, following his quick loss to Ovince St. Preux, but Tim Kennedy is warning the vet to avoid the UFC’s middleweight division.
Rua released a statement on Monday where he mentioned possibly changing weight classes, as he considers his next steps. While the light-heavyweight didn’t specifically mention middleweight, for some time now, there’s been discussion about whether Rua should consider moving to 185.
Well, in a follow up tweet from Kennedy, the UFC’s #7 ranked middleweight stated:
Somebody tell Shogun that it is a VERY bad idea to move down to 185. It is a total shark tank down here and we will all eat him up.

Kennedy is coming off a controversial, stoppage loss to Yoel Romero in September, which snapped the Strikeforce vet’s four fight winning streak.
Rua, meanwhile, has lost four of his last five fights.
