From UFC/Zuffa:  Undefeated Castillo to Face Menne for UFC Middleweight Title Gil Castillo has signed to face Dave Menne for the vacant middleweight title at UFC 33: Victory in Vegas. Castillo enters the Octagon with a 16-0 MMA record, including victories over many top caliber opponents. In his first MMA event, Castillo submitted the Lion’s Den’s Vernon "Tiger" White with an arm bar. He also holds a win over another tough Lion’s Den fighter, Joe Hurley. In his most recent MMA bout, Castillo won a convincing decision over the reigning King of Pancrase, Nathan Marquardt, the ninth ranked fighter in the world. Castillo’s many titles and championships include the IFC Welterweight World Championship, the IFC Middleweight Americas Championship, and the King of the Cage Middleweight Championship. From the event’s promoter: GLADIATOR CHALLENGE COMES TO DENVER!!!!  Promoter Tedd Williams is packing up his lights, smoke, camera & cage and is heading to the rocky moutains. On Sunday August 19th, the GLADIATOR CHALLENGE will be held for the first time outside of California. Coming along with Williams will be a host of California based fighters that have fought in both the GLADIATOR CHALLENGE and the KING OF THE CAGE. The event will take place in the "Great Room" at the Radisson North Greystone Castle. Knowing that pulling off an event like this in a new town would be a challenge, Williams enlisted the help of Sven "BOOGIE" Bean. Bean promotes Colorado’s premiere MMA show, the RING OF FIRE series, and was brought on board to act as matchmaker for the event. Judging from the way the card has evolved, Williams made a wise decision.
