Undefeated Clifford Starks Fighting Veteran Ed Herman at UFC 143

By FCF Staff

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced that undefeated middleweight Clifford Starks will fight veteran Ed Herman at the promotion’s upcoming February 4th event in Las Vegas.

The UFC 143 card will be hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center and will feature an interim welterweight title fight between Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz.

Starks (8-0) made his Octagon debut in October at UFC 137 and worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Dustin Jacoby. The bout took place just two weeks after the experienced wrestler scored a UD win over Artenas Young at Shark Fights 20.

Herman (19-8) is coming off back-to-back stoppage wins over Tim Credeur and more recently Kyle Noke, who he tapped out with a first round, inverted heel hook in August. The former TUF competitor is 3-2 in his last five fights.

Some of the other bouts scheduled for the Super Bowl Weekend event include Josh Koscheck vs. Mike Pierce, Roy Nelson vs. Fabricio Werdum, Scott Jorgensen vs. Renan Barao and Matt Brown vs. Chris Cope.
