The Maximum Fighting Championship has announced that undefeated welterweight Dhiego Lima (pictured) will take on UFC veteran Terry Martin, at the promotion’s upcoming October 7^th event in Edmonton, Alberta.

The MFC 31 card will be hosted by the city’s Mayfield Conference Centre and will be broadcast live on HDNet.

Lima (6-0) is coming off a first round knockout victory over Jamie Toney in June, after recording additional stoppage wins over Josh Taveirne and Bill Fraser while fighting under the MFC banner.

Lima is the younger brother of former MFC welterweight champ Douglas Lima, who stopped Martin at the promotion’s 29^th event in April, prior to signing a contract with Bellator FC.

Martin (21-9) has yet to compete since his aforementioned loss to Douglas Lima, which ended a three fight winning streak for the Strikeforce veteran that included victories over Josh Martin, Jorge Ortiz and Ted Worthington.

The welterweight bout completes the main card for MFC 31. Preliminary bouts will be announced shortly.
