Frankie Edgar

By FCF Staff

The UFC has announced that its first event in the Philippines will be headlined by a featherweight bout between Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber. The Fight Night card will take place on May 16th at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines.

Edgar (18-4-1) will be fighting for the first time since November, when he submitted Cub Swanson in the fifth round. Edgar, who has won three straight since he was decisioned by champion Jose Aldo, is currently ranked #1 at 145.

Faber (32-7) will be returning to the featherweight division, where he hasn’t fought since 2010, when he was defeated by Aldo under the WEC banner. More recently, the perennial contender tapped out Francisco Rivera at UFC 181 last month.

Faber is the UFC’s #3 ranked bantamweight.
