Conor McGregor is regarded one of the most dangerous strikers in MMA, and went nearly ten rounds with Floyd Mayweather Jr., but Vasyl Lomachenko doesn’t seem impressed with the star’s boxing pedigree.
As the MMA world continues to wait to see when McGregor will fight again, TMZ Sports caught up with the renowned boxer, Lomachenko. When asked for his take on McGregor’s pugilistic abilities, and how he’d do against the fighter, Lomachenko said this (quote via MMA Mania):
“I can beat him easy,” Lomachenko said. “I enjoy this fight. I will go through this guy, no problem. I don’t think [he’s a good boxer]. He might be a good boxer in an amateur career, amateur boxing. Three rounds, three minutes, one minute rest, maybe he is good. But in professional boxing? No.”
McGregor faced the undefeated, boxing champ Mayweather Jr. in 2017, and was stopped in round ten. Lomachenko, who is widely regarded to be one the of the greatest boxers on the planet, will face Anthony Crolla, April 12th.
