VBK 1: Ken Shamrock, Heavyweight Tourney Fighter Statements

By Press Release

Cheyenne, Wyoming, September 18, 2019 – Ken Shamrock, the World’s Most Dangerous Man and founder of Valor Bare Knuckle Inc. (VBK™) and the four heavyweights in the one-night tournament today stated their thoughts on VBK: 1, the promotion’s first-ever Pay-Per-View event taking place from 4 Bears Casino & Lodge in New Town, North Dakota.

Shamrock said, “It’s fight week and all of these guys are pumped and ready for pay-per-view Saturday. We’re going to blow everyone away with our first bare knuckle event.  It’s our time. Valor Bare Knuckle is here and it’s here to stay.”

Valor Bare Knuckle’s inaugural event, VBK: 1 will be available live on Pay-Per-View at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT on iN DEMAND, DIRECTV, DISH, VUBIQUITY in the United States, as well as Bell TV, Shaw Communications, Rogers and SaskTel in Canada, and the FITE.TV digital platform for a suggested retail price of $29.95. Taxes and fees may apply.

Tickets for VBK: 1 can be purchased online at Ticketforce.com or by calling 4Bears Casino & Lodge at 800-294-5454 (ask for Players Club).

Earlier this month, fight fans were given the opportunity to choose the starting brackets for the heavyweight tournament through a voting poll conducted by Forbes.com. Fans chose picked Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. “Mighty Mo” as the first bracket, and Jack May vs. Mark Godbeer as the second bracket.

Sokoudjou, who arrived in North Dakota yesterday, said, “Hey this is nude knuckles, full exposure, uncensored and live; anything can happen on VBK: 1 – this is going to be great television so everyone should tune in to the pay-per-view Saturday night. Valor Bare Knuckle is going to be lit.”

On his debut as a bare knuckle fighter “Mighty Mo” said, “Ken Shamrock’s promotion is an opportunity to wow all the fans for this first ever valor bare knuckle event this Saturday. Sokoudjou and the other heavyweights are going to be messing with a lot of power. Do the math. It only takes one right hand and it’s bedtime.”

Upon arriving in North Dakota today Mark Godbeer said, “First of all it’s an honor to fight for Ken Shamrock and it’s also an honor to step into the pit with all these legends of combat sports, said Mark Godbeer. “The fans pay to be entertained and I get paid to entertain the fans and that’s what this Saturday is all about.”

Jack May said, “Competing without gloves is a whole different sport and an entirely different type of fighting from boxing and MMA. This experience can’t be described with words. You have to watch it to understand that it is a totally different game. So tune in Saturday night and check out VBK: 1 on pay-per-view and you will see what I mean.”

Also as part of the live Pay-Per-View, former world champion boxer Ishe Smith (0-0) will make his bare-knuckle debut in a 160 lb. bout vs. Estevan Payan (1-0) and JC Llamas will square off against Mike Richman (1-0) in a 170 lb. match. Former UFC heavyweights Lavar Johnson vs. James McSweeney will be shown on the live card as well.

Four Dakotans will kick off VBK: 1 in the first two fights of the night. In a starting non-televised heavyweight preliminary, Chris Jensen (0-0), hailing from Waterford, North Dakota takes on John Carmona (0-0) from Fargo, North Dakota. Dane Sayers (0-0) also from Fargo, fights Brookings South Dakotan Joshua Dyer (0-0) in a 185 lb. preliminary bout.

Shamrock, Valor Bare Knuckle owner and founder, is a UFC® Hall of Famer and a four-time heavyweight world champion fighter and a WWE® Superstar and international wrestling legend. He is the UFC Superfight heavyweight champion, King of Pancrase champion, NWA/TNA champion, and the WWE IC champion.

The sport of bare knuckle fighting is regulated in Florida, Mississippi and Wyoming and is under consideration with several more states across America.
